Final score: 0-1 Sutton will feel hard done by not to have come away from the Camrose with a point. The first half saw Basingstoke have the best of the possession and chances with only a save by Phil Wilson keeping it at nil-nil. The introduction of McBean at the beginning of the second made the U's look like a different team and they had a good fifteen minute spell, but still couldn't find a goal. With just under a quarter of an hour to go the home team took the lead but it wasn't until the last few minutes that Sutton looked like that they might find the back of the net. As the clock ticked down Sutton forced a corner and while an injured Paul Honey had to leave the field the 'Stoke 'keeper proceeded to elbow and punch Jason Henry. Eventually when the corner was taken the ball was headed in at the back post, but the goal was disallowed as the 'keeper found himself on the floor and was adjudged to have been fouled. U’s v St Albans (14/08/07) Final score: 0-0 On a miserably wet evening both 'keepers could have had most of the night off. The first half saw the best U's best chance fall to Warren McBean but after rounding the 'keeper he ended up facing away from goal and couldn't work a shooting opportunity. The second half saw a few more attempts on goal by the U's but Craig Watkins, Asher Hudson and McBean's shots were all slightly wide of the mark. St Albans should've got on the score sheet themselves but the free header at the back post went harmlessly wide. Team: Phil Wilson, Alan Bray, Darius Charles, John Scarborough, Asher Hudson, Craig Watkins (Tony Martin), Paul Honey, Nick Greene, Ross Montague (Jason Henry), Warren McBean, Craig Tanner . U’s v Bromley (18/08/07) Final score: 2-2 Sutton will look back at this local derby as two points thrown away. Initially going behind to a dubious penalty, the U's pulled themselves back through a Craig Watkins strike. The home crowd had more to cheer about in the second half when with roughly ten minutes to go Warren McBean popped up at the back post and directed Nick Greene's free kick in. But the jubilation wasn't long lived and a mix up between Phil Wilson and Darius Charles gifted Bromley their eighty-forth minute equaliser. After going behind in the third minute it took the yellows a time to even challenge the Maidenhead defence and when they did they still couldn't hit the target. The best chance falling to Solomon Taiwo who sent Warren McBean's excellent pull back over the bar from six yards out. The U's came out for the second half and continued to pile on the pressure in search of an equaliser. This came when John Scarborough beat the Magpies' 'keeper to a corner and headed in from close range. Sutton then shot themselves in the feet as two goals were gifted to the opponents through the failure to clear the ball on the first occasion and trying to be too clever for their own good. This wasn't the end though as the U's suddenly found their feet again and after Ross Montague pulled the U's within one pushed for a winner. But, they couldn't find it.
