Final score: 2-1 The pre-season kicked off with a visit to the Keith Tuckey Stadium. The opening goal was a well placed free-kick from Adam Wilde that found the top right hand corner. The second half started well as Gavin Heeroo lashed home the U's second. The Rams did manage to pull one back mid way through the half, but neither side could further add to their tallies. [Back to Top] U’s v Bromley (19/07/08) Final score: 2-1 The U's continued their pre-season by coming from a goal behind to beat Blue Square South Bromley. A first half goal saw Sutton go in to the break one-nil down. However after the interval and a couple of substitutions the U's scored twice in two minutes to seal the victory. The first goal saw Jerson Dos Santos chip in to an empty net after, former U, Gareth Williams couldn't hold on the ball on the edge of the box. The second saw Adam "Taz" Roberts cut in from the left and via the keeper's hand and a defender's chest the ball hit the back of the net. [Back to Top] U’s v Horley (22/07/08) Final score: 2-0 Sutton continued their run of good form in the pre-season and were only really troubled once during the ninety minutes. The U's went ahead after a Steve West header took a wicked deflection and looped in to the top right hand corner. The U's then had a couple of chances ruled out as off side and also hit the post from distance. Jerson Dos Santos bagged his second in as many games in the second half finishing from a tight angle to increase the margin. [Back to Top] U’s v AFC Wimbledon (30/07/08) Final score: 1-2 A goal filled first fifteen minutes saw Sutton's pre-season win streak come to an end. Things started brightly for the U's as in the third minute Craig Dundas was bundled over in the box. Club captain Craig Davis duly stepped up and scored the resulting penalty. But before the home fans even had a chance to discuss the penalty the Dons were level as Elliott Godfrey fired in an unstoppable 25 yard effort. Ten minutes later Wimbledon took the lead as the U's couldn't clear the ball and Daniel Bokande managed to lift the ball over the advancing Paul Nicholls whilst holding off Dean Palmer. The second half saw Sutton have the best of the chances but the young Dons 'keeper was equal to them. [Back to Top] U’s v Uxbridge (02/08/08) Final score: 3-2 In their fifth friendly Sutton went ahead when Steve West had time on the edge of the area to bring down a Matt Hann cross and fire a low shot into the bottom right hand corner. Adam Wilde then made it two-nil with a trade mark free-kick from 25 yards. Uxbridge did manage to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time. In the 73rd minute Adam Roberts pounced to fire in from close range. Some excellent passing had led to Craig Dundas getting tackled in the six yard box and the ball dropped in to Roberts' path. In the final minute Uxbridge grabbed their second with an unmarked header from a corner, but it was too little too late. [Back to Top] U’s v Dulwich Hamlet (05/08/08) Final score: 2-2 An impressive display by Dulwich saw them match the U's for most of the first half, however new signing Chukki Eribenne rose majestically to head in Adam Wilde's excellent cross in the 37th minute. The second half kicked off and the shrill of the ref's whistle had barely stopped echoing around the ground before he was blowing it again to signal Dulwich's equaliser. five minutes later the Wilde - Eribenne combo struck again as Chukki headed in Adam's cross. The U's then pressed on looking to further the lead but could not find another goal. Then for the second game on the trot Sutton conceded in the dying moments of the game. [Back to Top] U’s v Kingstonian (09/08/08) Final score: 0-1 The U's finished their pre-season campaign with an um-impressive display away to Kingstonian. The first half saw the U's fail to trouble the K's 'keeper and this was the story for most of the second half too. Kingston took their chance in the 84th minute well and Sutton tried to step things up. A Steve West header, that was saved well by ex-U Luke Naughton, was as close as the Yellows came to salvaging a draw.
